3. How to Use StartMyRESP

Questions

  1. Why should I use SmartSAVER’s Start My RESP online application instead of going directly to my financial institution?

You should start your RESP however you feel most comfortable. You can also ask for the same RESPs by visiting any of our partner financial institutions in person.

Alternatively, you can contact your current financial institution to ask them to help you start an RESP to receive the Canada Learning Bond.

  3. When will the financial institution call me?

Your application is transmitted directly to the financial institution of your choice. Once you submit your application you can expect the financial institution to contact you within 2 – 3 business days.
